This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought forth unprecedented challenges to the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID). In our 83-year history, the only other time the in-person Annual Meeting was cancelled was during World War II. In response, we held Virtual Meetings and other virtual educational offerings so we can continue to fulfill our mission and disseminate the cutting edge scientific data generated by our investigators.
The SID has enjoyed a long period of financial stability during the past 20 years. Our meeting has grown, the diversity of our membership has broadened. Through our educational and grant programs, we have maintained an unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of skin researchers. Collegiality is not just an aspirational term in the SID…it is an accurate reflection of the spirit of mentorship and generosity of this global community.
